Roden R. Turla To all LSHS Batch 89, we would like to inform you that we won the game this morning (Feb. 20, 2010-Saturday) againts Batch 1981. Our Basketball Team won the second place. Batch 1988 snatch the CHAMPIONSHIP trophy againts Batch 1986 who capture the first runner up.

thank you so much for your generosity, batchmates.  i really appreciate your positive response to this matter.  i hope we could really raise enough funds to start our charity work.

@tess, it would already be easier for us to lay the guidelines in choosing our scholars after we have predicted how much we are going to have yearly.  francis is right - there are a lot of options that we could do.  but i guess, we should be very strict in screening the scholars.  yes, we need a grade requirement for the scholarship to keep them doing their best and keep aiming for excellence.  in the end, they will benefit not only from the scholarship itself, but for the hardwork they have done to keep the scholarship.  if they perform well, opportunities will come looking for them and not the other way around.

so, aside from the pledges, we need your bright minds to come up with our guidelines of collection to really sustain the charity work of our batch.
i can feel that the fervor in our hearts to help the less fortunate - a trait dominant to the rats (most of us are born in the year of the rat, right?  and rats are generous indeed!) is already on fire!  what a nice way to welcome the year of the tiger!  keep the fire burning!  happy new year!
